Not the Grammy’s

Fictional Machines recently nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Gladly, I accept.

St Kilda Community Garden, (Melbourne), Vic, Australia

Fictional Machines is [make you think] short stories by J.E. Lattimer, and he has a couple of other sites also worth looking at http://arcanearrangements.wordpress.com/ & http://mysteriesofthewasteland.wordpress.com/

The rules are:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.  Thank you Josh 🙂

2. List seven random things about yourself.  It’s been a slow day so I’ve been amusing myself listening to music on my phone… had an aha moment… seven songs.

Some things you never think will happen, do.
She Will Be Loved – Maroon 5 / Buena Vista Social Club
He was always there to help her

In the unlikeliest ways.
Love Song – AC/DC – Bon Scott
Oh, I’ve got hearts and flowers for you

When the time is right.
Shivers – Screaming Jets
But I keep a poker face so well

For the ones I miss.
Come Back – Pearl Jam
The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams

The song of my life right now, and my ringtone.
All Along The WatchTower – Jim Hendrix/Bob Dylan
There must be some kind of way out of here

Sometimes I just have to dance.
Nutbush City Limits – Tina Turner
They call it nutbush, oh nutbush

Will see me off from this life.
Amazing Grace – R. Carlos Nakai
How precious did that grace appear

3. Nominate 15 other blogs. I’ve gone with these 15 who are worth a click, and I’ve not nominated previously.

4. Notify the fifteen nominees. Oh, okay.

5. Put the award logo on your blog. Soon.

    1. Thank you. I try not to attract them (I’m going to be in trouble with Paralaxvu for begging off one of her’s) but I when I counted 15 new followed blogs I hadn’t ever nominated, combined with a slow afternoon, I thought mightaswell 🙂

  1. well done elladee, well deserved too 🙂 thanks for the nomination, i take it as a great compliment but i wont respond on my blog since i found all that work rather too distracting for me, so had to chose to be award-free … which reminds me the award-free logo has gotten lost since i upgraded to the 2012 template 🙂 you are very kind and i really appreciate the honour!

  2. EllaDee, Congratulations on this well deserved honor. You are so very lovely to me. I do happily accept and thank you, but due to the death of my mother it will be a few days until I am able to complete my end. Thank you so much for this delicious news! Beth from middlescapes

    1. Go to your site’s Dashboard, then down the LH menu to select Appearance, then Widgets. Drag the My Community Widget to the sidebar & select the settings you’d like, and save. My original Theme didn’t support a sidebar, so I had to change themes to be able to do it. Good luck 🙂

  4. I love your choice of songs. ‘She will be loved’ is on my playlist and always reminds me of a friend I miss greatly. ‘Nutbush City Limits’ always takes me back to my 80’s childhood where I spent far too much time at the Caribbean Roller-rama!
That ‘Love Song’ clip was such a happy thing, thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. Thank you. Glad you liked the songs. I think my life is made up of them. When I hear asong it takes me whoosh back to that time & place. I wished I remembered facts etc the way I do song lyrics 🙂

      1. I agree! I still know all the words to every Uncanny X-Men song (who I loved in my teens) but do you think I can remember the name of the neighbours husband? As soon as I hear Nutbush my feet start doing the side-side tap-tap thing 🙂
I have so many playlists for when I am at work, sad ones for when I feel sad and want to wallow for a while, happy ones, ones that will put me in a good mood no matter what, shouty ones, ones that will make me work faster so the end of the day comes faster….. Where would I be without my ipod!!
