To celebrate this street art just off King Street, Newtown, (Sydney) NSW Australia, I’ve combined 3 Australian icons: kangaroos, Rolf Harris and The Wiggles.

The Wiggles – Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport Feat. Rolf Harris – YouTube
Here are the words so you can sing along:
Tie me kangaroo down
Watch me wallabies feed, mate
Watch me wallabies feed
They’re a dangerous breed, mate
So watch me wallabies feed, altogether now
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
Keep me cockatoo cool, Curl
Keep me cockatoo cool
Don’t go acting the fool, Curl
Just keep me cockatoo cool, altogether now
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
Take me koala back, Jack
Take me koala back
He lives somewhere out on the track, Jack
So take me koala back, time to sing again
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
Mind me platypus duck, Buck
Mind me platypus duck
Don’t let him go running amok, Buck
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
Tie me kangaroo down, sport
Tie me kangaroo down
One more time, tie me kangaroo down.
I used to love Rolf Harris and Tie me kangaroo down, and Sunarise too. Never heard of The Wiggles although the youtube vid was cool, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the words written down before, I probably only knew the title line as a kid! Loved watching him rattle his drawings together too – perhaps he should do some street art in Sydney? Or maybe he has?

Thnx – so I’m not alone! I loved Rolf – as a 5 year old he was my favourite, as was Two Little Boys, and I also like Sunarise. The G.O. has no Rolf appreciation & shakes his head if I sing the tunes, actually if I sing anything but moreso Rolf… Maybe Rolf has been hanging out in King St with his British Paints.

Always used to love singing this song. Just fun. Wall art quite amazing – how long did that take do you think?

It’s great wall art 🙂 The G.O. has a shot of it as his phone screen saver & gets many requests to share. I think quite a bit of work went in to creativing it. Would have been great to see the process.
